0:01…with some heavy metal or the other. So to make that the causal actor in somebody’s ailment or death, we need to be very careful. Because the mere presence of a heavy metal even if it is unexpected concentrations we need to be very sure that there is not some other factor that has come in to confuse the picture a little bit. And hear I find number 1. Some of the heavy metals I’ve tested like cadmium is very unusual. In our panel I’ve been running our toxicology panel for fifteen years ..it’s and accredited laboratory…that has the only clinical calculated laboratory in the country,… we get it done,
1:10 we do this type of analysis, where required, under out supervision where the report is furnished, but the interpretation is done by us. That is important because heavy metals are a very confusing type of entity and if somebody does some analysis he may likely interpret it wrongly. So here #1 I am surprised at who picked up cadmium, and why. was it there anything in Srila Prabhupada’s history, medical history that maybe suggested that he was exposed to cadmium. Otherwise to pick it out dozens of heavy metals I find it a little odd. So maybe there was a little something that I don’t know of…
2:20 Hair analysis as a toxicologist I would say is very down the list as reliable analysis in toxicology. Hair analysis had it’s glory days, 70’s, 60’s from about 80’s & 90s, a lot of controversy started evolving, how reliable is it, how authentic is it? Is it capable of being replicated in a same samples… a lot of publications are there.. it is not my opinion. Hair analysis in general is shrouded in a bit of controversy today for toxicology purposes. In regards to heavy metal analysis it is really under a lot of scrutiny. How reliable is heavy metal analysis of hair. If you go to the net, you can do that on your own, you will find a lot of authentic publications, I am not talking commercial web sites… no go to web sites that are part of a medical organization or a hospital or a university you will see a lot of publications that say hair analyais should not be taken as a routine as number one in toxicology and whatever results you get, which are abnormal you must work with that.. you cannot give an opinion based on a single screen, you have to get that done once more, maybe at a laboratory which did the test the first time, or preferably by another labroratory.
