6:00 in previous century where the contamination of some water body occurs because of cadmium and the local population use that water for patty fields and they started developing a lot of problems like bone pain especially, It came to be known as the iti, iti disease, or the Ouch Ouch disease. Over a period of time getting such a sever boney pain they were virtually unable to function. They could not even walk. During the later stages fractures were so common. None of that we have seen in this particular case we have seen isn’t it,? Cadmium attacks the bone and that particular entity, iti, iti disease shows that if it is chronic poisoning with cadmium, bone would have been involved in one of two conditions. One I called osteomalacia which is the softening of the bones, the other is osteoporosis where the bones become brittle. Both of them after the fact cause severe bone pain,
7:00 weakness, and easy fractures, none of which I have come across here. For somebody to raise a suspicion that maybe cadmium is involved because that is one of the specifics, one of the few specifics of cadmium, other than that much of it is like any other heavy metal, like it attacks the kidney, it attacks the liver , it attacks the blood cells, it attacks the nervous system, any heavy metal can do that.. so why did they pick cadmium? And if there is a particular reason I would like to know about it. So what I am coming to is the whole thing appears like somebody has already decided that A: it is poisoning, B: we should say it is cadmium, so now what at the things that we can get to fit into this picture. It looks like that. I am sorry to say. But as a person with an objective mind here, I have no intention of taking sides, I feel that the whole thing has been constructed like that. It is like that classic English phrase.
8:00 Give a dog a bad name and then hang it. It is YOU have already decided that you want to prove this. Now let us gather evidence to prove it. That I why I am really disturbed about this. If somebody had said these are the manifestations that somebody has suffered from, indicating cadmium, therefore we selected that and then we found that this high level, yes that is a logical progression but here it appears to me that there does not appear to be that kind of logic involved. And what about arsenic… I believe arsenic was also raised. Antimony was also raised in some samples if I was not mistaken. Why did you not complete the job and do an analysis of all the other heavy metals. It would have been interesting to know the whole picture where it is raised. So the whole thing is a mess. So how do you interpret it. Why did you stop with five metals?
9:00 Why don’t find thallium, I would have definitely looked for thallium that if you were looking at homicidal poisoning with heavy metals. If you have not selected thallium give me a reason why was thallium not taken?
