This frivolous allegation was quickly debunked by research that indicated how arsenic was a serious problem found in Bengal water. Studies confirmed that the slightly higher numbers found in Srila Prabhupada’s hair could easily be explained by this fact alone. It is also worth pointing out that when arsenic is introduced very slowly into the body, a person can develop a tolerance for it and it would go unnoticed. This was proven by the 18th century “Arsenic Eaters” of the Australian Alps. They included small portions of arsenic into their diet for what they believed led to desirable cosmetic reasons like skin color and texture with no noticeable side-affects..
At the turn of the millennia the problems with contaminated water in Bengal were surfacing and being reported about. Yet there were some who needed to cling to this fabricated poisoning ruse and dismissed the reports about arsenic in the water as an excuse made up by the GBC to not take their concerns seriously. We now have many examples illustrating how those obsessed with promoting the poison allegations have no interest in any facts or studies that do not support their futile claim that Srila Prabhupada was poisoned.
